A new Composite of Boron Nitride and Silica

By applying the Stöber process, the rim of h-BN platelets can selectively be functionalized with silicon oxide (see scheme).

Synthesis of Hollow Nano-Sized Zeolites

The core of ZSM-5 crystals can be removed by base treatment resulting in hollow zeolithes with diameters below 100 nm (TEM image). They have potential in applications as nano-reactors and catalyst carriers.
